Randy Halfpap has been the men’s and women’s head tennis coach at Salisbury University for over 20 years. After graduating from Salisbury University, he went to Pomona-Pitzer College for two seasons as head coach before heading the Salisbury program in 2000.
As head coach, he has over 200 wins to include multiple CAC and NCAA titles and been awarded CAC Coach of the Year multiple times (’01, ’04, ’08, ’14). With over 200 coaching wins, his players have had major accomplishments such as CAC Player of the Year, All-Capital Athletic Conference honors, NCAA qualifications, Rookie of the Year, All-CAC teams.
As a player, Randy was a 2 year letterman for the Salisbury University Sea Gulls after transferring to SU from Charles County Community College. He won CAC singles championships in his two seasons as a Sea Gull and the men’s doubles championship in 1997. Salisbury won their conference championship and qualified for the NCAA tournament during both of his years of play.
Randy is a native of Maryland, He graduated from SU in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree. He also has a master’s degree (education) from Azusa Pacific (Calif.) Univeresity.
